Reality sets in

Packing our home to move on to Elizabeth Jean has made our plan real in a new and emotionally moving way.  As we pack, we take time to review photograph albums, books and other treasures accumulated over our 23 years on Mercer Island.  As excited as we are to be at this point there is sadness in closing this long and rich chapter in our lives.

Packing (a Haiku)

Boxes on the floor.

Walls shed pictures as if fall leaves.

Memories linger.

Having moved several times, I am touched by your haiku. You capture it so well.
