Port Townsend Northwest Maritime Center

From March 14-17, Eric attended seminars at the the Northwest Maritime Center in Port Townsend.  The Center is a new facility that houses a wooden boat shop, offices, boats, and classrooms.

The Center’s courtyard has an inlaid compass rose with the words-

The Wooden Boat Foundation operates the boat shop in the Center.

The Center has a full screen simulator that displays real sky lines and radar and other functions.

When activated the simulator brings in other vessels and weather.

These desk top simulators have the some of the same programs.  This one allow you to see how the land forms and ships on the left screen appear on radar.
