From March 14-17, Eric attended seminars at the the Northwest Maritime Center in Port Townsend. The Center is a new facility that houses a wooden boat shop, offices, boats, and classrooms.
The Center’s courtyard has an inlaid compass rose with the words-
“In a spirit of adventure and discovery.”
The Wooden Boat Foundation operates the boat shop in the Center.
Posters from the Wooden Boat Festival dating to the 1970’s line the halls. The images are wonderful
The Center has a full screen simulator that displays real sky lines and radar and other functions.
When activated the simulator brings in other vessels and weather.
