Sea of Cortez: Overview

We spent much of February exploring the Sea of Cortez around LaPaz.  We had heard much about LaPaz as a cruising base, but were still unprepared for how wonderful it is.  A cruisers’ net on Channel 22 of the VHF starts every morning at 8:00.  The net provides updates on weather, tides, comings and goings and swaps and trades of almost every conceivable equipment and material.  LaPaz is a great base to operating from, having several marinas and in-town anchorages and wonderful remote anchorages within a couple of hours of down-town.  Remote fishing villages and uninhabited anchorages are within hours, days, or weeks, depending on how much time one has and how fast one wants to travel.  We barely scratched the surface of this cruising mecca.

You are living the dream… so very very happy for the two of you. Weather back east continues to be terrible. STAY WHERE YOU ARE!
